Are you looking to make a difference in our Wirksworth & Middleton community?
Help us support householders to make their houses:
- more comfortable
- healthier
- emitting fewer carbon emissions
- less expensive to heat.
You will be using your skills to make an impact on the vital issues of the climate crisis and fuel poverty – but at a local level and through practical action.
In 2022-23 our volunteers organised a popular weekend of Open Eco Houses Tours, put on an Energy Efficiency Forum with stalls and presentations, and have visited 14 local households so far to help them locate heat loss with our thermal imaging camera and to discuss solutions.

Hi, I attended a couple of your events last year and support your aims. I am a retired architect with a particular interest in climate issues and retrofit. We built a new house (in Idridgehay) in 2015 with good levels of insulation, thermal and PV solar panels, an air-source heat pump and MVHR. I would like to share knowledge and experience and help encourage more retrofit and better understanding of the issues and the technology. I also have some coding skills (HTML, css and Javascript). You are asking for volunteers and I think I tick one or two boxes, sp please let me know if I can offer (occasional) help.
